Understanding the unique factors that are associated with the pediatric assessment enables a foundation for ensuring a comprehensive and age-appropriate approach to care. Such an approach includes the use of validated assessment tools that are appropriate for developmental age, an understanding of normal age-related findings, and the importance of collaborating with parents and other providers when conducting the assessment.
