Full course description

The role of the care manager relative to the pediatric patient population is complex and varied. Not only is the care manager dealing with the patient; but he/she is also obligated to deal with the family or those with authority on behalf of the patient, the school system, and community resources.

As the pediatric population transitions between developmental stages, a seasoned care manager anticipates many of these transitions based on their knowledge of general pediatrics as well as various disease processes. While the goal of this course is to expose the care manager to a variety of these pediatric population needs, it is in no way meant to be exhaustive, but more of an overview of the kinds of issues patients, families, and insurance companies face.
